✅ Mission Statement

Started in 2024 on a long-simmering idea and a sudden whim, Planned Chaos offers planners, stationery, and kits to help juggle ideas, tasks, and creativity.

Real life is where ideas collide, plans shift, and not everything fits in neat boxes.

Whether you’re managing tasks, chasing ideas, planning world travels, or raising tiny humans, our products help you think clearly, plan effectively, and keep moving forward, even through the plot twists.

🌀 Origin of the Name

The phrase Planned Chaos comes from economist Ludwig von Mises, who used it to describe the disorder that can emerge from rigid, top-down control.

Attempts to force perfect order onto complex systems, like economies, or human lives, often create more chaos instead of order.

That contradiction felt familiar.

As a nurse, educator, mom, and creator, I’ve lived that tension: trying to organize the mess without losing what makes it work. Planned Chaos reflects both the philosophy and the reality:

You can’t control everything, but you can build systems that work within the unpredictability.

I offer a curated collection of products built for people who are thoughtful (journaling), ambitious (planners), a little disorganized by nature (kits), or just need a creative outlet (even coloring planners!). If you believe peace, happiness, and falling in love with a mundane life matters, you’re in the right place.

👋 Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Catherine.

I’m a nurse, professor, mom, and lifelong collector of notebooks and ideas.

I care about how people learn, how they stay motivated, and how small systems can create meaningful progress.

Every day brings something new for me - reworking a planner because it didn’t quite match how the quarter unfolds, creating a junk journal layout to scratch today's creative itch, volunteering to edit a website for a local event, writing new skills for Claude to integrate for the needs of my team, creating a canva template to use on social media for nursing students, maybe just grading papers and writing test items, or searching for new ways to display journals and stickers because I haven't gotten it quite nailed down yet!

If you’re balancing multiple roles, chasing ideas, or just trying to stay a little more organized without losing your creativity or spark, this is for you.
